Wolf Firewalker

Well, for those who haven't the idea who he is/was, that was the Fire wizard I started a few days back.  I'd already acquired his Link and spent the Training point on Evil Snowman.  Then, after thinking about the NOOMA video, Shells, I decided to end him and stick to my "Indestructible Master of Death".  This is the above video. The Wolf Spiritshade I mentioned was a Life I created a few weeks back that shared the same fate.

With NOOMA Shells, long story short, there's no real need in filling our hands with extra burden that we won't be able to control.  If you wanna get to the starfish further off in the ocean, certain sacrifices are to be made.  That means, if you can't get the big prize you seek, let loose some minor things that are holding you down.  Let loose of the many little things in the pursuit of the one simple and important thing that matters.  I have said "No" to Firewalker when I already said "Yes" to Soulrider.

Again, long story short, Wolf Firewalker is no more, he's deleted so I can pursue as Soulrider to aid other players while I'm lurking online.  I've been so busy doing so much that my hands are literally tied.  I'll post a similar story on my other blog, "Oxford AG AM Sermons/Spiritual Journal".

Movies and The Spiral

Remember when I mentioned that I can find some similarities to a few games and films as I was playing W101?  Well, this is the next part, movies to compare.

There's this one quest, Wizard Tours, where the item/wand, the Dragon Rider Staff, was broken into nine pieces and scattered about the Spiral.  This has reminded me of another movie weapon, the Scepter of Prosatanos from "Hellbound" with Chuck Norris.  What I'm getting at is that said scepter was also broken into nine pieces and scattered throughout the world just like the Dragon Rider Staff.

Back when I mentioned the Twin Drakes?  The first few times I fought Malistaire, I would taunt him at the final blow with, "Say hello to your brother for me", regardless of who hits him thus, from Die Hard 3.  That is, towards the tail end of said movie, McClane was down to a couple bullets and wanted to bring the heli down within those two hits.  Long story short, before he finally hit the bird, that taunt was given.

Again on taunts, I would sometimes say, "Say hello to my little friend" or "C'mon, I take all your bullets" from Scarface.  Which explains why I like to rush into the duel rings first since I'm probably the one with the most health and best Death resistance.

Back when I mentioned Cyrus "The Virus", this was another antagonist from Con Air with John Malkovich as Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom.  Character claims he'd killed more people than cancer, lol.

Granted, all this may not be W101 related, but it's unique unless someone else beaten me to it.

Got Heated Again

Just so everyone knows, this is my new strap-Avalanche's Legendary Cutlass.  Looks so much like Grimcaster's Blade of Severity, yeah?  That's why I'd farmed him off and on for a couple days to get since it reminds me of said sword.  All I say to Avalanche is "Thanks for the heater."  Truth is, haven't been this happy for a strap since I bought the Grimcaster sword a couple months back.

A Comparison of Sorts

Throughout my journey into the Spiral, I've found several similarities to other games/movies I'd played/seen.

The "raising of the Dragon Titan" was like Ninja Gaiden II where the final boss was Vazdah, but the difference was that the Titan didn't get raised, but Vazdah did, causing Ryu Hayabusa, the protagonist, to fight him twice.

The progressing difficulty was a bit like Kingdom Hearts. Starts off a little cheery, fun and easy, even the attitude itself.  But, as that game progressed, so did the attitude and theme.  The final boss of the first was Xehanort, known as Ansem at the time.  He looked kinda Darth Vader menacing, that is, so evil that you'd wanna side or be like him.

Stealth brings me to Metal Gear Solid where you would try walking on the side paths and not get into direct view/contact with the enemy to evade.

Dragonspyre almost reminds me of the Greece/Roman levels of Tomb Raider.  The Great Spyre was kinda like The Great Pyramid in that game.  I even would sometimes call Malistaire Natla because of this.  Mooshu's Hametsu Village I would make a crack at why it wouldn't be called Hayabusa Village from NGII.

Next up, connections of characters, such as the Twin Drakes.  I knew Cyrus "The Virus" and Malistaire looked alike, but didn't knew at first they were twins.  Off topic, I named them the "Twin Drakes" for a rhyme coming up.  Said rhyme reminds me of Metal Gear Solid with Solid and Liquid Snake.  At first, the former, usually known as Snake, didn't knew Liquid was his twin until near the end.  Then, there was a remake, The Twin Snakes.  Rhymes, yeah?  Twin Drakes, Twin Snakes?

I can add the movies that could compare to this, but that's another show.

Wizard Tours/Mossback

Remember that one room in the Ancient Burial Grounds where an Obsidian Chest containing a Dragon Rider Staff piece?  And how hard it was to enter it?  Well, though I've been through with the main story for a little over a month and finished Grizzleheim, I'd still investigated the Mossback quests required to enter said room. The image above is the dojo in Jade Palace where some Life wizards would require to enter for their Rebirth/Level 48 quest.  For those who will ask, yes, I'm able to enter this room.  This is to say that I've completed these quests for the Spirit Walker badge.

Now, That's What I'm Talkin About!

Yep, this is what I would call the Ultimate Death Armor.  Attire consists of:

  1. Spiderkeeper's Darkshroud
  2. Malistaire's Ebon Robe
  3. Kraysys' Boots of Retreat (stats stitched onto Moccasins of Mortality)
  4. Gurtok Ender's Blade
  5. Gurtok Mortis Seal
  6. Blade of Gallium Paladin (sometimes Grimcaster's Blade of Severity)
  7. Shadow (Wraith pet, not pictured)
The above here, excluding the sword, increases my Power Pip chance from 40 to 82%.  The threads increase my Death damage to 30% with 40% resist, adding about 800 max health along with the Blade and Seal adding 340 max ammo, er mana.

The robe itself took about four bouts with Malistaire to make him drop it while the ring and athame were dropped within a couple fights with the Gurtoks.  What took longest were the Kraysys' Boots, I was farming him for a week, give of take, and about a dozen or so times.  But, on the same day, after acquiring said shoes, went on to farming Yeva Spiderkeeper again for her hat and it took just a few fights total, excluding the one for that day.

Intro

"The Lone" Wolf Soulrider here to introduce ya'll to my Wizard 101 blog.  For those who have no idea what this game is about or why the above image, I'll have Wikipedia explain the meat of it here.  Anyway, when you start the game, you can only choose a name from the preselected list, with any combination of a one part first and a one or two part surname.  The image above is the in-game school I take, Death, with their students being called Necromancers.  I've been on it since August and already became a Grandmaster, the game's current highest rank of Level 50, for a bit over a month now.

Had I been able to choose my own wizard name, it'd been Altair ibn-La Ahad from Assassin's Creed.  Come to think of it, early on, I was gonna try to make Wolf look like him (image above).  Why I didn't keep the Altair look later on was that stitching the stats onto the threads would've been a few hundred crowns, their premium currency that costs real money, to do.  Anyway, I tried that a few times and wore one robe for the longest until I acquired the best Death exclusive robe, Malistaire's Ebon Robe.  Stitching and green aside, the look I have now is starting to grow on me.  So, this closes my intro to this blog and happy gaming.
